Video & Photography for Canal house
Canal house
Layered with stories and concealed by decades of change, this 17th-century listed canal house has been thoughtfully reawakened by pham.
Over the course of three years, the interior architects completed a full restoration, uncovering original features and reinterpreting them for modern living. The design favours restraint over opulence, creating 800m² of elegant, livable spaces that feel timeless, personal, and precisely crafted.
For a home as unique as this, pham invited us to develop a visual approach that would both honour the project and serve as a visual identity for the firm. To reflect the restoration’s balance of heritage and modernity, we photographed the residence in both digital and analogue formats, applying a subtle filmic grain to the edit. On film, we captured the home’s atmosphere in slow, deliberate frames – drawing attention to the materials, textures, and craftsmanship that define it.

“This house had lost much of its soul. Our task wasn’t to recreate history, but to let it reemerge naturally – and build from there.” – pham
