Format’s Amsterdam showroom is more than a display space. It’s a direct expression of the studio’s design signature. For this interior design showroom photography project we stepped into Format’s world, where clean lines, considered materiality, and a timeless approach to craft are central codes. Transformed from a former rowing shop into a refined, contemporary interior, the showroom gives clients a full sense of what Format stands for.

Our brief was to capture that vision in full. From the kitchen — built around stainless steel, natural stone, and warm oak — to the living spaces and the details in between, the photography needed to honour the precision behind every decision. The things you barely notice often make the biggest difference here. Integrated sockets flush with the cabinetry. Seamless material transitions. Joinery that ages beautifully. These are all details that keep the space calm and functional, which we emphasised across the visuals. 

Format’s approach is built on quiet contrast: steel paired with warmth, minimalism balanced with character. That subtle tension gives each space its depth. Following it gave our photography its structure. So, we moved between wide compositions that capture the clarity of the layout and close shots that let the materials and neat details speak for themselves.

For us, interior design showroom photography means stepping into a studio’s vision and making sure every frame belongs there. With Format, that meant precision, restraint, and an eye for the small details that make a big difference.
