Gaggenau: The Perfect Climate

A winemaker spends a lifetime guarding what the vineyard gave him, shaping soil, light, and time into a wine that tastes like the land it came from. Yet the moment a bottle leaves the estate, all of that care is left to the mercy of how well it’s kept. This film and photography production we created for Gaggenau sets out to tell that story.

The Film

We travelled to Spain to film winemaker Elias López Montero of Verum Bodegas, hearing firsthand what that fragility means, and why temperature control matters for a vintage he’s spent years perfecting. Dictated by Elias’s schedule, the production ran on a tight timeline. We spent three hours on location with him before filming a single scene, walking the vineyard and understanding the space.

Shooting ran from first light to sundown, giving us the full rhythm of a real day at the estate. That time with Elias gave the interview a personal quality that comes through in the film. From Spain, the story moved to Germany, where Gaggenau’s team spoke about engineering the Vario wine climate cabinet to protect that same precision, down to the exact degree.

Our approach throughout was to bridge both crafts as one story. The patience of winemaking and the discipline of engineering, each protecting something worth protecting. It’s a film about care as much as it’s about a product, and one of the more personal projects we’ve made for Gaggenau to date.

The Photography

Alongside the film, we photographed Elias’s vineyard and cellar in Spain. In Germany, we photographed the Vario wine climate cabinet and a selection of Gaggenau’s wider appliance suite inside their showroom, showing how each product carries the same precision into a considered interior setting. We also captured portrait shots of Gaggenau’s Innovation Manager Stefan and Master of Wine Konstantin Baum, both of whom feature in the film.
