The Bank

The Bank at Rembrandt Square is one of Amsterdam’s most recognisable monuments. Commissioned by interior design studio TANK, this commercial interior photography project documents its transformation – from a single-tenant office into a future-ready, multi-tenant workplace.

TANK’s key move was opening up the first floor, reconnecting the atrium with the façade and pulling natural daylight deep into the building. That decision changes everything about how the space feels. It also became the backbone of our photography. The atrium now anchors the building as a central hub where co-working, meeting spaces, and shared amenities come together.

Across 23,000 m², the challenge was showing both the scale and the detail. From the reimagined entrance lobby to the meeting rooms and shared spaces, the photography needed to convey an environment that feels open, connected, and genuinely welcoming. All without losing the character and history of the building.

That meant moving between the macro and the micro. Wide compositions capture the openness of the space alongside close details of the materials and textures that give the interior its warmth. Throughout, we worked with natural and artificial light to convey both at their best.

TANK’s redesign honours the buildings past while making it entirely fit for a new purpose. Our commercial interior photography was about showing how well that balance was struck.
